Our Story
More than five decades of machinery vibration expertise in Canada.
A history rooted in Canadian industry
The CMVA traces its origins to the Machinery Dynamics Subcommittee of Canada’s National Research Council, which launched the Machinery Vibration Seminars in 1970.
The association was formally incorporated as a not-for-profit entity under Canada’s Corporations Act in 1991, and the first CMVA chapter was established in 1993, drawing from the Atlantic Canada Chapter of the Vibration Institute.
Today the CMVA is Canada’s national voice for machinery condition monitoring and vibration analysis, with five regional chapters and an internationally recognized certification program.
